Technology, as it stands today, is very primitive. Sure, we might have virtual reality headsets and devices that respond when talked to, but in the grand scheme of things, everything is still primitive.

In the future, millions of years from now, technology today will look dated and obsolete. AI will be incredibly advanced, in fact, it would be embedded in society itself. Are we talking about fully fledged human-like robots? Yes but we're also thinking more broader than that, we're talking about technology making life decisions like court cases, what treatment to give to patients at a hospital or getting from A to B without a human.

It's these sorts of examples where technology should be underpinned with a sense of ethics and morality. But it begs the questions, how do we embed a sense of morality in technology? Its clear that the creators of such technology should be the ones to uphold such values in their creations. However, ethics and morality cannot be easily programmed. The only way for technology to get such values is by that same technology knowingly understanding what is right and what is wrong. But then, at this point, that same technology would also make its own choices without the creator having programmed that choice in anyway.

So it raises a dilemma, do we limit ourselves in what tech can achieve? Or do we continue forward, creating guidelines as to what is and isn't acceptable? If so, who is to blame if the technology makes a wrong choice? The creator, or the technology?

When creating Terl, we wanted technology to be privacy and security focus with an emphasis on the user. Technological advances in the short and long term will have impacts on societies around the world and we want to make sure we have the right people paving the way for people to feel safe.

Thus, Terl was setup as the creators of such paving, making sure that people are using technology that has been created and designed with the right choices made. Making sure to uphold integrity and transparency in our conduct.

This is the standard that Terl wants to set.

We look forward to the future.
